Paddle in the quaint Lambert’s Bay harbour when you visit this small west coast fishing town. Lambert’s Bay is located 280km north of Cape Town. It is a worthwhile detour off the N7 and is only 60km from Clamwilliam and the Cederberg Wilderness Area. Located halfway between Cape Town and Windhoek is Oewerbos River Camp. Situated on the Orange River near Vioolsdrif, its the perfect stop-over point to break the journey. In addition to their popular multi-day rafting trips, Oewerbos are now running trips using our Mazowe double-seater kayaks. From the moment you arrive, Otters’ Haunt feels like a home-away-from-home. Located on the Vaal River, just outside of Parys, Otters is a wonderful family-friendly and dog-friendly getaway. They offer various accommodation options, from the bushcamp A-frames to small cottages and the river-facing house. There is no shortage of things to do at Otters from joining a geological walking tour, to mountain biking and river rafting. They also have our Vagabond kayaks for guests to use. Paddle Experience has a variety of offerings for budding paddlers. They have a one-hour Paddle Fit session every Thursday from 16h00 to 17h00. Kayaks, PFDs and paddles are provided and booking is essential. Pay per session or per month. They also do guided kayak tours around the Simon’s Town harbour and other locations over weekends.
