For the most part, blemishes on our kayaks consist of scuffs, marks, a not-quite-right logo, porosity, rough bumps (like a reverse porosity) or a mark in the plastic from pre-heating. Blemishes have no effect on the structural integrity of the kayak and most are only visible when examined up close.

We classify our kayaks as Class A, Class B and Class C.

A Class A kayak may have a little porosity but if it has more than what we deem acceptable for a full retail kayak, we classify it as a Class B ‘blem’. Class C kayaks just have more than a Class B.

Kayaks classified as rejects have a structural flaw. These are cut up and the plastic is sent to recycling.

This is what blemishes can look like.
